Possible Causes
Cold water entering warm tank causing condensation, High humidity in installation area, Small leaks at fittings above tank, Internal tank leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power or gas if you suspect an internal tank leak.
- 1. Identify source: Dry the area and observe while the heater operates. Check fittings, T&P discharge, and drain valve for drips.
- 2. Condensation check: Light condensation is common on new installations or in humid conditions and may diminish over time.
- 3. Internal leak: If water seeps from under the jacket or from weld seams, the tank is compromised and the heater must be replaced.
