How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power (electric) or gas (gas) and allow water to cool before draining.
- 1. Test lower element (electric): Replace if open.
- 2. Inspect dip tube: Shut off water, relieve pressure, and remove cold inlet nipple. Pull out dip tube and inspect for breaks. Replace if damaged.
- 3. Check thermostat wiring: Compare to wiring diagram and correct any errors.
- 4. Flush tank: Drain and flush to remove sediment that may be displacing hot water volume.
