Possible Causes

Defective evaporator NTC sensor, broken sensor wiring, sensor dislodged from evaporator, control board sensor input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power. Do not open the sealed refrigeration circuit.

  • Access the heat pump module on top or side of the Atlantic unit (depending on model).
  • Locate the evaporator temperature sensor clipped to the evaporator coil fins.
  • Check that the sensor is firmly attached to the coil and that its cable is not damaged or pinched.
  • Measure the sensor resistance at ambient temperature and compare with Atlantic specifications. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
  • Inspect and reseat the sensor connector on the control board.
  • If the sensor and wiring are good but E7 remains, the control board's sensor channel may be defective and the board should be replaced.
