Possible Causes

Failed condenser NTC sensor, loose sensor clip, damaged harness, faulty control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate electrical power. Do not disturb refrigerant piping.

  • Open the heat pump module cover to access the condenser temperature sensor mounted on the hot coil or water heat exchanger.
  • Verify that the sensor is properly clamped to the pipe or plate and that thermal paste (if used) is intact.
  • Measure resistance and compare to the Atlantic NTC chart. Replace the sensor if out of tolerance.
  • Check the harness for continuity and reseat the connector on the control board.
  • If E8 persists with a known-good sensor, replace the heat pump control board.
