Possible Causes
Defective return NTC sensor, Loose wiring harness to return sensor, Sensor not properly seated in return pipe pocket, Control PCB input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working inside the heater.
Steps:
- Locate return NTC: Find the return temperature sensor on the return pipe entering the Baxi heat exchanger.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the PCB for damage, pinched sections, or loose plugs.
- Reseat sensor: Ensure the sensor is fully inserted into its pocket or clipped securely to the pipe.
- Compare with flow sensor: If you have a multimeter and the manual, compare resistance of flow and return sensors at the same temperature. Large discrepancies may indicate a faulty sensor.
Professional: If E06 persists, a technician should perform full diagnostics and replace the return NTC or PCB as needed.
