Possible Causes

Seized circulation pump, Airlock in system, Closed isolation valves, Blocked system filter

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow the system to cool before touching pipework or the pump.

Steps:

  • Check isolation valves: Ensure the flow and return valves under the heater are fully open.
  • Bleed radiators: Remove air from all radiators, starting with those closest to the heater.
  • Check pump operation: Place a hand on the pump body during operation; it should vibrate slightly. If silent or extremely hot, it may be seized.
  • Clean system filter: If a magnetic or mesh filter is installed, isolate and clean it to restore flow.

Note: Pump replacement or system power-flushing should be performed by a heating professional.
