Possible Causes

Blocked condensate trap or drain line, Frozen condensate pipe, Incorrectly installed condensate siphon, Siphon not filled with water

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power. Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves and eye protection.

  • Inspect condensate trap: Locate the condensate siphon at the base of the heater. Remove it according to the manual and check for sludge or debris.
  • Clean trap: Rinse the trap with clean water until all deposits are removed. Ensure the internal water seal is intact.
  • Check drain line: Follow the condensate pipe to its termination. Clear any blockages and ensure proper slope to the drain.
  • Protect from freezing: If the pipe runs through unheated spaces, insulate it or reroute to prevent freezing.
  • Refill siphon: Before reattaching, fill the trap with clean water to establish the seal.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the trap, restore power, and run the heater. Confirm that H61 clears and that condensate drains freely.
