How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate gas and power. Only qualified gas engineers should work on gas valves.
- Check gas valve connector: Access the gas valve and ensure the electrical plug is fully seated and free from corrosion.
- Measure coil resistance: With the appliance isolated, disconnect the gas valve and measure the resistance of the modulation coil(s). Compare with service manual values. Replace the valve if readings are out of range.
- Verify correct gas type setting: Ensure the appliance is configured for the correct gas (natural gas or LPG) as per the data plate. Incorrect configuration can cause modulation errors.
- PCB check: If the gas valve tests OK, the PCB may not be providing correct control voltage and should be tested/replaced by a professional.
