Possible Causes
Mismatched NTC sensors, Poor thermal contact on NTC, Faulty PCB temperature processing, Recently replaced sensor with wrong type
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before working on sensors.
- Verify sensor types: Ensure that any recently replaced NTC sensors are genuine Chaffoteaux parts with the correct resistance curve.
- Check mounting: Confirm that NTCs are properly clipped to pipes or inserted into pockets with thermal paste if specified. Poor contact can cause false readings.
- Compare sensor readings: With a multimeter, measure resistance of both flow and return (if present) NTCs at the same temperature and compare. Large discrepancies indicate a faulty sensor.
- PCB evaluation: If sensors are correct and well mounted, the PCB may misinterpret readings and require replacement.
