Possible Causes
Blown mains fuse, Faulty power switch, Loose terminal block connections, Defective main PCB power supply stage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the circuit breaker before opening the electrical connection box.
- Check external power: Verify that the dedicated circuit breaker or fuse for the Chaffoteaux water heater is ON and not tripped. Reset if necessary.
- Test outlet or supply: Use a plug-in tester or multimeter to confirm 230 V (or local voltage) is present at the appliance terminals.
- Inspect internal fuse: Many Chaffoteaux units have an internal fuse on or near the PCB. With power off, remove and check continuity. Replace only with the same rating and type.
- Check terminal block: Tighten all live, neutral, and earth screws. Look for heat damage or discoloration.
- PCB evaluation: If supply and fuses are good but the display remains off, the PCB power supply section is likely faulty and the board should be replaced by a professional.
