Possible Causes
Thermostat set too high, Stuck thermostat contacts, Failed mixing valve, Faulty temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow water to cool. Open a hot tap to relieve pressure.
Steps to check:
- Lower the set temperature on the CTC control panel to a safe level (around 49°C / 120°F).
- For mechanical thermostats, verify that the dial setting matches actual outlet temperature using a thermometer.
- Inspect and test the thermostatic mixing valve; replace if it does not regulate temperature correctly.
- If temperature continues to overshoot the setpoint, replace the tank thermostat / temperature sensor and, if needed, the main control PCB.
