Possible Causes
Defective inlet NTC sensor, Sensor not properly attached to inlet pipe, Broken or shorted sensor wiring, Faulty control PCB sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the main isolator before working on the heater.
- Locate inlet NTC: Remove the front cover. Find the inlet temperature sensor on the cold water inlet pipe or manifold.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped or strapped to the pipe and has good thermal contact. Re-secure if loose.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor cable back to the control PCB. Look for cuts, abrasions, or signs of overheating. Reseat the connector on the PCB.
- Test sensor (if possible): With power off, measure resistance and compare to Dimplex specifications. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range or intermittent when the cable is gently flexed.
- Power up: Restore power and run a hot tap. If E03 persists, the control PCB may require replacement by a technician.
