Possible Causes
Open-circuit heating element, Burned element terminals, Loose high-current wiring, Failed power relay on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power at the breaker. High-current circuits can cause severe shock or fire if mishandled.
- Visual inspection: Remove the cover and inspect the heating element terminals and high-current wiring for discoloration, burning, or loose screws. Tighten any loose terminal screws to manufacturer torque specs.
- Check continuity: With power off and wires removed from the element, measure resistance across the heating element terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- Inspect relays: On the control PCB, look for burned or cracked power relays. Do not attempt board-level repair unless qualified.
- Replace faulty parts: If the element is open or visibly damaged, replace the heating element assembly and associated gaskets. Ensure correct wattage and Dimplex part number.
Note: If wiring and element test good, the control PCB or triac/relay may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
