Possible Causes

Air trapped in system, Closed outlet or mixing valve, Incorrect installation with reversed connections, Faulty dry-fire protection sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power before bleeding or reconfiguring pipework.

  • Verify plumbing: Confirm that cold water is connected to the inlet and hot to the outlet as per Dimplex installation diagram. Correct any reversed connections.
  • Bleed air: Open several hot taps fully to purge air from the system. Allow water to run until all air is expelled.
  • Check outlet restrictions: Ensure thermostatic mixing valves, check valves, and shower cartridges are not blocked or stuck closed.
  • Inspect dry-fire sensor: Locate the dry-fire or level sensor on the heat exchanger. Check wiring and seating. Replace if visibly damaged or if the fault persists after plumbing issues are resolved.

Note: Repeated dry-firing can damage the heating element. If the unit has been run without water, have a technician inspect the element and exchanger.
