Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close the water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.
- Inspect drip tray: Remove the front cover and check the base of the unit for standing water. Dry the area and locate the leak source.
- Tighten unions: Check all internal compression fittings and unions for drips. Gently tighten if loose, taking care not to overtighten.
- Check element flange: Inspect around the heating element flange and gaskets for seepage. Replace gaskets if deteriorated.
- Examine heat exchanger: Look for corrosion or pinhole leaks on the exchanger body. If leaking, the exchanger will need replacement.
Action: After repairs, dry or reset the leak sensor and restore power. If E15 returns or the leak source is not obvious, contact a Dimplex service technician.
