Possible Causes
NTC sensor leads shorted together, Water ingress into sensor connector, Crushed sensor cable, Faulty control PCB input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before testing sensors.
- Inspect sensor wiring: Trace the affected NTC sensor cable (inlet or outlet) and look for crushed or pinched sections where conductors may be shorted.
- Check connector: Disconnect the sensor from the PCB and inspect for moisture or corrosion. Dry and clean as needed.
- Measure resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance across its leads. A reading near 0 ohms indicates a shorted sensor that must be replaced.
Note: If the sensor tests normal but E16 persists, the PCB input circuit may be shorted and require board replacement.
