Possible Causes
Exhausted magnesium anode, internal tank corrosion, high iron content in water, long periods without use
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power and close the cold water supply. Allow the tank to cool before opening any ports.
Steps:
- Locate the magnesium anode rod on the Drazice tank (often combined with the flange or in a separate port).
- Relieve pressure and partially drain the tank below the anode level.
- Remove the anode and inspect it. If it is heavily consumed (thin rod or missing sections), replace it with a new Drazice magnesium anode of the correct size.
- Flush the tank through the drain valve until water runs clear.
- If corrosion is advanced and leaks are present, the tank may need replacement.
