Possible Causes
Burned-out heating element on flange, shorted heating element to ground, failed power relay or triac on control board, loose power wiring to element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: This involves high voltage. Only proceed if you are competent with electrical testing. Otherwise, call a qualified technician.
Check the heating element:
- Turn OFF the breaker and verify no voltage at the heater terminal block.
- Remove the access cover and locate the heating flange terminals.
- Disconnect the wires from the heating element terminals.
- Measure resistance across the element terminals with a multimeter. Compare with the rated power (e.g., a 2 kW element at 230 V should be around 26 Ω). Infinite resistance indicates an open element; very low resistance may indicate a short.
- Measure insulation resistance between each element terminal and the metal flange/tank using a megohmmeter if available. Low insulation resistance indicates a ground fault.
- If the element is defective, drain the tank below the flange level, remove the flange, and replace the complete heating flange assembly with a Drazice OEM part, including new gasket.
- Inspect the power relay/triac on the control board for burn marks. If damaged, the control board should be replaced as a unit.
- Reconnect wiring firmly, refill and bleed the tank, then restore power and check for normal operation.
