Possible Causes

Defective evaporator NTC sensor, sensor dislodged from coil, damaged sensor wiring, moisture in sensor connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Power off: Disconnect the unit from mains before accessing internal components.

Check evaporator sensor:

  • Remove the cover to access the heat pump section and locate the evaporator coil and its NTC sensor (usually clipped to the coil tubing).
  • Inspect the sensor and wiring for physical damage or corrosion.
  • Disconnect the sensor from the control board and measure resistance at ambient temperature; compare with the specified NTC curve.
  • If out of range, replace the evaporator NTC sensor with an OEM part and clip it firmly back onto the coil.
  • Ensure the sensor cable is routed away from sharp edges and hot components.
  • Restore power and verify that H1 clears and the heat pump resumes normal operation.
