EcoSmart unit is noisy with water hammer or banging sounds when taps are opened or closed.

Possible Causes
High water pressure, Quick-closing valves, Lack of water hammer arrestors, Loose internal piping supports
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Plumbing work may require shutting off water; electrical power can remain on if not opening the unit.
- Check water pressure: Use a pressure gauge on a nearby faucet. If static pressure exceeds manufacturer recommendations (often ~80 psi), install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve.
- Install arrestors: Add water hammer arrestors near quick-closing valves (dishwasher, washing machine, some faucets) to absorb shock.
- Secure piping: Ensure hot and cold pipes near the EcoSmart unit are properly strapped and supported.
- Internal supports: If noise seems to come from inside the unit, with power OFF, check that internal manifolds and modules are firmly mounted.
