Possible Causes
Failed current transformer (CT) on power input, Loose CT connector, Damaged CT wiring, Control board analog input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power at the breaker. The current sensor is around live conductors; do not work with power on.
- Locate current sensor: Inside the unit, find the current transformer (CT) or current sensor ring around one of the supply conductors.
- Check connections: Ensure the CT’s low-voltage leads are firmly connected to the control board and not pinched or cut.
- Inspect CT body: Look for cracks or signs of overheating on the CT housing.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and run hot water. If E13 persists, the CT or the control board’s current sensing circuit may be defective.
- Repair path: Replace the CT if available as a separate part. If not, or if replacement does not help, the main control board will likely need replacement by a technician.
