Possible Causes
Leaking plumbing connections above unit, High humidity and cold inlet water causing condensation, Missing cover gasket, Inadequate ventilation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Shock risk: Turn OFF power at the breaker before touching the unit.
Moisture control steps:
- Inspect all plumbing connections above and around the heater for leaks. Repair any leaks and dry the area.
- Ensure the front cover is properly installed and any gaskets or seals are intact.
- Improve ventilation in the area to reduce humidity, especially in small closets.
- If condensation is due to very cold inlet water, insulate nearby cold pipes to reduce dripping onto the unit.
- Allow the interior to dry completely before restoring power. Use a fan if necessary.
Persistent moisture can damage the control board and sensors; address the root cause promptly.
