Possible Causes

One heating element open, Loose element terminal, Burned wiring on one element bank, Faulty triac controlling one element

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF power at the breaker and verify with a tester. Elements operate at high current.

Diagnostic steps:

  • Remove the front cover and visually inspect all heating elements and wiring for discoloration, burned insulation, or loose terminals.
  • Tighten all element terminal screws to manufacturer torque specs.
  • Disconnect power leads from each element and measure resistance across each element. Compare readings; a significantly higher resistance or open circuit indicates a failed element.
  • Replace any defective heating element and any damaged wiring.
  • If all elements test good, the triac or relay controlling one element bank on the control board may be faulty. Replace the main control board if necessary.
  • Reassemble, restore power, and test for stable heating without E15.
