Possible Causes

Corrupted control board firmware, Internal memory fault, Loose display/control panel connection, Electrical surge damage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF power at the breaker before accessing internal components.

Reset and inspection:

  • Turn OFF the breaker for at least 5 minutes to allow the control board to fully discharge. Then restore power and check if E7 clears.
  • If the unit has a separate user interface/display board, remove the front cover and inspect the ribbon cable or harness between the display and main control board. Reseat both ends.
  • Check for signs of moisture intrusion or corrosion on the control board. If present, locate and correct the source of moisture (leaks, condensation) and dry the area thoroughly.
  • If E7 persists, the main control board is likely faulty. Replace it with the correct Eemax control board assembly for your model.
  • After replacement, restore power and reprogram any temperature or configuration settings as needed.

Because this error involves internal electronics, board replacement is typically required if a power reset and connector checks do not resolve it.
