Possible Causes
High water pressure, Sudden valve closure, Loose mounting of heater, Air in lines
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Noise itself is usually not dangerous but can indicate stress on plumbing.
Noise reduction steps:
- Check household water pressure. If above recommended levels (typically 60–80 psi), install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve.
- Install water hammer arrestors near quick-closing valves (dishwasher, washing machine) and near the Eemax heater if needed.
- Ensure the heater is securely mounted to a solid surface with appropriate fasteners and vibration isolation if necessary.
- Bleed air from the plumbing system by opening all taps fully for several minutes.
Persistent severe banging should be evaluated by a plumber to prevent pipe damage.
