Possible Causes

Elements stuck on due to failed triac, High ambient temperature with poor ventilation, Control board not shutting off power to elements

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Burn and fire hazard: Turn OFF power at the breaker immediately.

Steps:

With power OFF, remove the cover and check if heating elements show signs of continuous operation (discoloration, very hot to touch after cooling period).
Inspect the control board triacs or relays for signs of damage or welding.
If elements are being energized when there is no flow, the control board is likely defective and must be replaced.
Ensure the unit has adequate clearance and ventilation per Eemax installation instructions.

Do not operate the heater until the cause of overheating is corrected.
