Unit trips the circuit breaker immediately or shortly after turning on hot water.

Critical safety: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Turn OFF power and leave it off until the fault is found.

Fault-finding steps:

• Remove the front cover and visually inspect all wiring and elements for burn marks, melted insulation, or contact with the metal chassis.
• Disconnect power leads from each heating element and test resistance to ground. Any element showing continuity to ground is shorted and must be replaced.
• Inspect the control board for obvious shorts or burned components.
• Verify that the breaker size and wire gauge match the Eemax model's requirements. An undersized breaker may trip under normal load.
• Replace any shorted heating element or damaged wiring. If no external faults are found, replace the main control board.
