Possible Causes
Insulation breakdown in heating element, Moisture on wiring or terminals, Faulty earth leakage detection circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Critical safety warning: An earth leakage fault can cause electric shock. If you are not experienced with electrical testing, contact a qualified electrician or service technician.
Steps:
- Disconnect power and water: Turn off the breaker and close the water inlet if you will open the tank.
- Check for visible moisture: Remove the lower cover and inspect for water leaks around the element flange and wiring. Dry any moisture and identify the leak source.
- Test element insulation: With wires removed from the element, use a megohmmeter (insulation tester) between each terminal and the metal body. Values below 1 MΩ indicate a failing element; replace it.
- Inspect wiring: Look for damaged insulation where wires may touch the metal casing. Repair or replace damaged wires.
- Control board: If insulation tests are good but E07 persists, the earth leakage detection circuit on the control PCB may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
