Possible Causes
Burned-out element due to age or dry firing, Severe limescale causing overheating and failure, Loose element wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the tank to cool before working.
Steps:
- Access element terminals: Remove the lower cover to expose the heating element assembly.
- Check wiring: Ensure wires are firmly attached to the element terminals and not burned.
- Test element resistance: Disconnect wires and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit (OL) indicates a failed element.
- Replace element: Drain the tank, remove the flange, and install a new Eldom-compatible element with a new gasket. Refill and bleed air before restoring power.
