Possible Causes
Thermostat set too low, One of dual elements failed (on multi-element models), Limescale insulating the element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing covers.
Steps:
- Check thermostat setting: On mechanical Eldom heaters, remove the cover and adjust the mechanical thermostat knob to a higher setting (e.g., 60°C). On digital models, verify the setpoint on the display.
- Test dual elements: If your model has two elements, test each separately with a multimeter. Replace any open element.
- Inspect for scale: Remove the element flange and check for heavy limescale. Descale or replace the element if heavily coated.
- Re-test: After adjustments and any replacements, allow several hours for the tank to fully heat and verify temperature.
