Possible Causes
Failed temperature adjustment knob potentiometer, Broken shaft or linkage, Loose connector to PCB, Faulty analog input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect temperature knob: Check if the knob turns smoothly and is not cracked or slipping on the shaft.
- 2. Access potentiometer: Remove the front panel to expose the temperature control potentiometer. Look for broken mounts or damaged wiring.
- 3. Test potentiometer: Disconnect it and measure resistance across the outer terminals, then between one outer and the wiper while turning the knob. Resistance should change smoothly without jumps.
- 4. Replace potentiometer: If readings are erratic or open, replace with the correct Electrolux temperature control assembly.
- 5. Check PCB input: If the potentiometer tests good, the analog input on the PCB may be defective, requiring board replacement.
Note: After replacement, verify that the displayed set temperature changes correctly when adjusting the knob.
