Possible Causes

Defective tank thermostat, Loose bulb or probe from tank well, Broken capillary tube, Faulty tank NTC sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power and allow the tank to cool. Hot water in a pressurized tank can be dangerous.

Steps:

  • 1. Access thermostat: Remove the access cover on the tank body to expose the thermostat or NTC sensor.
  • 2. Check probe position: Ensure the thermostat bulb or NTC probe is fully inserted into the tank well and secured.
  • 3. Inspect capillary tube: For mechanical thermostats, check for kinks or breaks in the capillary tube. Replace the thermostat if damaged.
  • 4. Test thermostat/NTC: For mechanical types, verify continuity and cut-in/cut-out temperatures per specifications. For NTC sensors, measure resistance and compare to the Electrolux curve.
  • 5. Replace faulty component: Install a new Electrolux thermostat or tank sensor if readings are incorrect.

Note: After replacement, verify that the tank heats to the set temperature and then cycles off correctly.
