Possible Causes
Failed outlet NTC sensor, Loose outlet sensor connection, Damaged outlet sensor harness, Faulty main control board (temperature sensing circuit)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF power at the breaker and close the water supply. Allow the unit to cool before touching internal components.
Steps:
- 1. Remove front cover: Follow Electrolux instructions to remove the access panel.
- 2. Locate outlet NTC sensor: It is typically mounted on the hot water outlet pipe or at the heat exchanger outlet.
- 3. Visual inspection: Check for cracked sensor body, moisture, or discoloration. Ensure the sensor is firmly seated and not hanging loose.
- 4. Check wiring: Follow the two-conductor cable from the sensor to the PCB. Reseat both ends and look for damaged insulation or corroded pins.
- 5. Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to the Electrolux NTC curve. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range or unstable when gently warmed with your hand.
- 6. Clear the code: Restore power and run hot water. If E2 persists with a known-good sensor and wiring, the PCB is likely defective.
Professional help: PCB replacement and calibration should be done by a qualified technician.
