Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed display board, Faulty main PCB communication port
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before accessing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect control panel: Check for signs of water damage, condensation, or cracks in the display housing.
- 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the front cover and carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the user interface board and the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not twisted.
- 3. Dry the area: If moisture is present, gently dry the panel and internal components with a soft cloth and allow time for complete drying before re-energizing.
- 4. Test operation: Restore power and check if the display and buttons respond normally.
- 5. Replace UI board: If E9 persists and the main PCB appears normal, replace the user interface/display board with the correct Electrolux part.
Note: If replacing the UI does not resolve the issue, the main PCB may also need replacement. This should be evaluated by a professional.
