Possible Causes
Defective fan motor, Blocked air pressure switch tubing, Faulty air pressure switch, Blocked flue or condensate trap (on condensing models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate electrical power before touching internal components.
- Check flue and condensate: Ensure the flue terminal is clear. On condensing Fondital models, inspect the condensate trap and drain hose for blockage; clean and flush with water if necessary.
- Inspect fan: Remove the front cover and visually inspect the fan wheel for dirt buildup or foreign objects. Spin the fan gently by hand (power OFF) to check for free movement.
- Air pressure switch tubing: Remove the silicone tubes from the air pressure switch and fan connections. Check for water, kinks, or blockages; blow through gently to clear.
- Test fan start: Restore power and call for heat while observing the fan. If it does not start or is very noisy, the fan assembly or its capacitor is likely faulty and should be replaced.
- Pressure switch: If the fan runs but A05 persists, the air pressure switch may not be closing. This requires electrical testing and likely replacement by a technician.
