Possible Causes
Blocked condensate trap, Frozen condensate pipe, Incorrect trap installation, Faulty condensate level sensor (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power. Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves and eye protection.
- Inspect condensate pipe: Check the external condensate discharge for kinks, blockages, or freezing in cold weather. Thaw gently with warm (not boiling) water if frozen.
- Clean trap: Remove the condensate trap beneath the heat exchanger. Empty and rinse with clean water to remove sludge and debris. Refit ensuring seals are correctly seated.
- Check slope: Ensure the condensate pipe runs with a continuous fall to the drain to prevent standing water.
- Sensor: If your Fondital model uses a condensate level sensor, inspect and clean it. Replace if corroded or damaged.
