Possible Causes
Low or fluctuating supply voltage, loose connections at junction box, undersized wiring, failing breaker
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the breaker and remove the junction box cover on top of the heater.
Steps to address E7:
- Inspect connections: Verify that wire nuts are tight and that copper conductors are not exposed. Tighten any loose connections.
- Check wire size: Confirm that the supply wiring meets GE’s gauge requirements for the heater’s amperage.
- Measure voltage: With power restored and using a multimeter, measure voltage at the heater terminals. It should be within the specified range (typically 240 ±10%). Significant deviation can trigger E7.
- Breaker and panel: If voltage is unstable, have an electrician inspect the breaker and service panel.
Note: Persistent power issues should be corrected by a licensed electrician.
