Possible Causes

Blocked inlet strainer on combination valve, Partially closed isolation valve, Scaled or blocked thermostatic mixing valve, Collapsed flexible hose on outlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate water supply before dismantling any valves. Be prepared for residual pressure and water discharge.

Steps:

  • Check cold mains: Confirm that cold taps have good pressure. If not, the issue is with the incoming supply.
  • Inspect isolation valves: Ensure all service valves on the cold inlet and hot outlet are fully open.
  • Clean strainers: Remove and clean filters on the combination valve and any inline strainers on the hot outlet.
  • TMV service: Disassemble the thermostatic mixing valve according to the manufacturer’s instructions, clean out scale and debris, and replace cartridges or seals if worn.

Note: If flow remains poor after these checks, internal pipework or the cylinder coil/plate exchanger may be restricted and require professional attention.
