Steps:

• Check user settings: Confirm that any user‑adjustable temperature controls are set to the recommended level (usually around 60°C for stored hot water).
• Boiler temperature: On boiler‑fed Gledhill units, ensure the boiler flow temperature is set high enough (often 70–80°C) to charge the store properly.
• Sensor accuracy: Compare the displayed temperature (if available) with the actual cylinder surface temperature using a contact thermometer. A large discrepancy suggests a faulty thermistor.
• Descale immersion: In hard water areas, limescale can coat the immersion element, reducing heat transfer. A professional can remove and descale or replace the element.

Note: Persistently low temperatures can encourage bacterial growth; ensure the system is capable of reaching pasteurisation temperatures periodically.
