Possible Causes
Failed outlet NTC sensor, Loose sensor connection, Sensor dislodged from outlet pipe, Damaged harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power and allow the heater to cool before working near hot pipes.
Steps to address E06:
- 1. Access outlet sensor: Remove the front cover and locate the NTC sensor on the hot outlet pipe or manifold.
- 2. Check physical condition: Confirm the sensor is intact, firmly clipped, and not hanging loose. Re-secure with the original clip or strap.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Check the cable for signs of overheating or mechanical damage. Reseat the connector at the PCB.
- 4. Test sensor: With power isolated, measure the sensor resistance and compare to specification. Replace if out of tolerance.
- 5. Re-test: After replacement, restore power and run hot water. If E06 returns, suspect a PCB fault and contact a qualified engineer.
