Possible Causes
Pump impeller seized, Stuck diverter valve, Corroded mechanical linkages, Airlock in primary circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before attempting to free any mechanical parts.
- Bleed air: Bleed radiators or cylinder coil and any air vents near the heater to remove trapped air.
- Free the pump (qualified persons): Some pumps have a central screw that can be loosened to manually turn the shaft with a screwdriver. Only attempt if you are competent and the system is depressurised as needed.
- Exercise valves: Operate any isolation valves fully open and closed a few times to free them.
- Restart: Restore power and demand heat. If the pump still does not run, it likely needs replacement.
