Possible Causes
Failed DHW NTC sensor, Loose DHW sensor clip on outlet pipe, Wiring harness damage, Scale buildup isolating sensor from water flow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and close the cold water inlet valve before removing any DHW components.
- Locate DHW NTC: The DHW sensor is usually on the hot water outlet pipe or integrated into a DHW manifold on Immergas water heaters.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the pipe or inserted fully into its pocket. A loose sensor can misread temperature.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the cable back to the control board, checking for damage or loose connectors.
- Descale outlet section (if accessible): If the outlet pipe is heavily scaled, temperature transfer to the sensor may be delayed. Consider descaling the DHW circuit using a pump and approved descaling solution, or have a technician perform this.
- Replace DHW NTC: If readings are clearly wrong, install a new Immergas DHW NTC sensor.
Note: Incorrect DHW temperature sensing can cause scalding or lukewarm water; verify operation carefully after repair.
