Possible Causes
Leaking safety relief valve, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Loose union fittings, Cracked plastic hydraulic components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close water and gas valves. Place a container under the unit to catch drips.
- Identify leak source: Remove the front cover and carefully inspect with a flashlight. Look at the safety valve discharge pipe, pump unions, heat exchanger connections, and plastic manifolds.
- Check safety valve: If water is dripping from the safety valve outlet, system pressure may be too high or the valve may be faulty.
- Tighten unions: Gently tighten any slightly loose compression or union fittings, but do not overtighten plastic parts.
- Do not operate with active leak: If the leak source is the heat exchanger or a cracked component, keep the unit off and call a technician.
Warning: Water leaks can damage electronics and the building; address immediately.
