Possible Causes
Microcontroller error on main PCB, Corrupted firmware, Poor connection between display board and power board, Electrical noise or surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing covers.
- 1. Power reset: Switch off the heater at the breaker for at least 2–3 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes a microcontroller lockup can be cleared by a full power cycle.
- 2. Check low-voltage connections: Remove the cover and inspect the ribbon cable or connectors between the user interface/display board and the main power board. Reseat all connectors.
- 3. Inspect for damage: Look for burn marks, swollen capacitors, or corrosion on the control boards. Any visible damage usually requires board replacement.
- 4. Surge protection: If E08 appeared after a storm or power surge, consider installing a surge protector and have the board evaluated by a Kospel service center.
- 5. Firmware: On some models, firmware can be updated by service personnel. If Kospel documentation mentions this, contact authorized service.
If E08 persists after reseating connectors and power cycling, the main control board or display board will likely need replacement.
