How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and gas before removing the blower assembly. Sharp metal edges may be present.

Steps:

1. Listen for blower operation: On a call for heat, the blower should start before ignition. If it does not, proceed with checks.
2. Inspect wiring: Verify the blower motor plug is fully seated and wires are not burned or pinched.
3. Check for obstruction: Remove the blower assembly per the Lochinvar service manual. Inspect the blower wheel for debris or signs of rubbing. Clean and ensure it spins freely.
4. Test motor: With the blower removed, apply appropriate test voltage (only if you are qualified) to verify motor operation. If the motor does not run or is noisy, replace the combustion blower assembly.
5. Control output: If the blower tests good but never receives power, the control board may be defective and require replacement.

Lochinvar heater displays E012 and shuts down; fan may continue to run.
