Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display and main PCB, Faulty user interface board, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Control board firmware fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power before removing the front cover or control panel.

Steps:

  • Inspect control connections: Remove the front cover. Locate the ribbon cable or harness connecting the display/control panel to the main PCB. Disconnect and reconnect it to ensure a solid connection.
  • Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation, water drips, or corrosion on the control panel and connectors. If moisture is present, identify and fix any leaks above the unit and allow the panel to dry completely.
  • Power reset: Leave the unit powered off for 5–10 minutes, then restore power to reset the electronics.
  • Replace interface if needed: If buttons do not respond or the display is erratic even after reseating cables, the user interface board may need replacement.

When to call a technician: If the main control board is suspected or if replacing the interface does not clear the E7 error.
