Possible Causes

Failed pressure reducing valve seal, Loose compression fittings, Debris under non‑return valve seat, Corroded inlet group body

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the cold water supply to the heater and relieve pressure via a hot tap before working on the inlet group.

  • Identify leak point: Dry the area and observe where water emerges—at joints, from the relief outlet, or from the valve body.
  • Tighten joints: Carefully tighten compression nuts or threaded joints, taking care not to overtighten.
  • Clean or replace components: If the leak is from the relief outlet, the internal seat may be fouled. Many Oso inlet groups are replaced as a complete assembly rather than serviced.
  • Replace inlet group: If the body is corroded or seals have failed, remove and replace the entire Oso cold inlet combination valve assembly.
