Possible Causes

One of multiple elements failed, Heavy limescale on element reducing heat transfer, Thermostat set too low, Faulty mixing valve blending too much cold

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power and allow the cylinder to cool before removing any components.

  • Check thermostat setting: Ensure the Oso thermostat is set to the recommended temperature (usually 55–60°C).
  • Test recovery: After a full reheat cycle, measure hot water temperature at a tap. If it is low, suspect element or scale issues.
  • Inspect elements: On multi‑element models, test each element’s resistance and replace any failed units.
  • Descale element: In hard water areas, drain the cylinder to below the element, remove it, and descale or replace if heavily coated.
  • Check mixing valve: Verify the thermostatic mixing valve is not set too low or stuck partially open on the cold side.
