Possible Causes
Faulty heat exchanger thermistor, Loose sensor mounting, Damaged sensor wiring, Defective PCB sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Burn hazard: Allow the unit to cool before touching the heat exchanger area.
- 1. Power reset: Turn OFF power for several minutes, then restore and test.
- 2. Access heat exchanger sensor (qualified persons):
- Remove the front cover.
- Locate the thermistor attached directly to the heat exchanger body.
- 3. Inspect wiring and connector:
- Check for loose, corroded, or heat‑damaged connectors.
- Reseat the connector at both ends.
- 4. Check sensor mounting:
- Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the heat exchanger surface as specified by Panasonic.
- 5. Replace sensor: If wiring is intact but H16 persists, replace the heat exchanger temperature sensor with a genuine Panasonic part.
- 6. If unresolved: The PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be tested by an authorized technician.
