Possible Causes
Faulty DHW flow sensor, Blocked inlet filter, Gas supply turned off (gas models), Failed heating element (electric Protherm models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and, for gas models, close the gas valve before opening the unit.
- Check water flow: Open a hot tap fully. If flow is weak, clean the cold water inlet filter and ensure stop valves are open.
- Verify gas or power: For gas models, ensure gas supply is available and other gas appliances work. For electric models, check the dedicated breaker and wiring.
- Inspect flow sensor: Confirm that the DHW flow sensor/turbine is working and wired correctly; replace if defective.
- Test heating element (electric): Measure resistance of the immersion or tank element. Replace if open-circuit or shorted to earth.
Warning: Do not bypass safety devices to force operation; identify and repair the root cause.
